Denmark, Norway, Iceland temporarily halt use of AstraZeneca COVID Vaccine; UK calls it safe & effective

  The United Kingdom defended the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine after Denmark temporarily suspended its use.  Denmark ,  Norway  and  Iceland  temporarily suspended the use of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine on March 11, 2021 due to concerns about patients developing blood clots post the vaccine jab, despite AstraZeneca and Europe's medicines watchdog insisting that the vaccine was safe. The move comes after reports of blood clots among people who were administered the first dose of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine. The Danish health authority, however, stressed that the  move was precautionary  and that  "it has not been determined, at the time being, that there is a link between the vaccine and the blood clots". The Danish health authority director Soren Brostrom said in the statement,  "It is important to point out that  we have   not terminated the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, we are just pausing its use." India, Bangladesh likely to sign three MoUs during Prime Minister Modi’s visit

  MoUs are likely to be signed in the field of disaster management as well as cooperation between some institutions of India and Bangladesh. India and Bangladesh will most probably sign three Memorandum of Understandings during PM Modi’s visit to Dhaka next week. Prime Minister will be visiting the neighbouring country to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence as well as the birth centenary of its founder ‘Bangabandhu’ Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. PM Modi and the head of the government and state from Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan will be among the distinguished guests who will be joining the celebrations under separate schedules. Prime Minister Modi holds virtual summit with Finland counterpart Sanna Marin

  During the virtual summit, PM Modi urged Finland to join the International Solar Alliance and CDRI.  PM Modi on March 16, 2021, held a summit in a virtual mode with the Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin. During the summit, both the leaders covered the entire spectrum of the bilateral relationship between India and Finland. They also exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual interest. According to Prime Minister’s Office, the summit will provide a blueprint for the diversification and future expansion of the Partnership between India and Finland. The official release added that both the countries enjoy warm and friendly relations with each other that are solely based on the shared values of freedom, democracy, and rules-based international order.
